Clarity for the way you earn.

When your income varies from shift to shift, it can be difficult to know how much you actually earn.

Our mission is to help you understand what you earn, recognize your earning patterns and support you along the way.

Since 2016, we’ve been building tools to help you make more informed decisions about your work and your income.

About us

Meet the team behind ServerLife.

I'm the founder and lead developer of ServerLife. I guide the development of the app, from shaping new features to improving the tools our users rely on every day. My goal is to help tipped workers better understand their earnings, recognize patterns in their income, and make more informed decisions about their work.

I've been a software developer for over 30 years. After spending much of my career developing software in the corporate world, I wanted to build something of my own that could make a real difference in people's lives.

The idea for ServerLife came from my son, Zach. After he lost his tip-tracking history when switching phones, I saw an opportunity to create something better. What started as a simple way to track tips has grown into an app used by hundreds of thousands of tipped workers.

It's been incredibly rewarding to watch it grow and to hear how it's helped people better understand their earnings. Today, ServerLife is truly a family business. My son Zach works alongside me as a developer, and my daughter Meghann handles our communications.

Outside of work, my wife Jill and I live full-time in our RV with our dog, Jordy. We enjoy traveling around the country, exploring new places, and visiting our kids and grandkids along the way. I also enjoy golfing, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

I build the screens and features you use in the app and do the behind-the-scenes work to bring everything together. My goal is to make the data you track clear and organized so you can better understand your income.

I started as a busboy at 16 and worked my way through serving, bartending and eventually managing restaurants. Back then, I was happy to have cash in my wallet at the end of the night, but I never really knew how much I was making overall. Tracking my tips helped me see how useful that information could be.

Fast forward to when I switched phones and lost all the earnings data I’d tracked in another app. That experience inspired my dad, Jason, to create ServerLife, where your records stay connected to your account, even when you change devices.

My wife and I met while working at a restaurant. We moved to Colorado and both worked at a local brewery bartending, where I eventually became the sales and marketing coordinator. During that time, I taught myself to code, and after a few years, I joined ServerLife as a developer. I’ve been helping improve the app ever since!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our 1 year old son, playing video games, hiking, camping and reading. I’m a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings and everything by J.R.R. Tolkien.

I’m the person behind our website, help articles, blog and social media. My goal is to help you understand and get more out of ServerLife.

I joined the team shortly after graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in journalism and media communication. I enjoy taking information that can feel complicated and making it clear and useful.

I previously worked at a restaurant serving, bartending and managing front-of-house operations. After marrying my husband, who serves in the Army, life took us all over the country and overseas. I grew up in the restaurant environment, and that experience has stayed with me.

I’ll always respect the work and advocate for the people who do it. Through my work at ServerLife, I’m continuing to learn about the challenges people face in the industry and finding ways to support them.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching football, and playing golf and pickleball. I love getting lost in a good fantasy or historical fiction book, spending time outdoors and taking RV trips with my family.

Why we built ServerLife.

ServerLife started with our family. Ten years ago, all three of Jason’s kids were working in restaurants. When his son upgraded his phone and lost the earnings history he’d recorded in another app, Jason decided to build something better.

With 30 years of software development experience, he created a way to help his kids, and others working for tips, keep track of their income.

Today, your feedback helps shape ServerLife, but the people behind every shift remain at its heart. We believe tipped workers deserve tools that help them feel more informed, confident and in control of their income.
